7/9 of these songs are from his 50’s career.
this is not me taking a stand as a purist,
but it is commentary on how much i enjoy red garland.
i found it rather difficult to incorporate
his lengthier 60’s/70’s material,
so i only included the ones that had a profound impact on me.
i encourage digging into his pre-funk/fusion days in the 60’s
with the various amazing line ups.
it isn’t that i snubbed those entries from this mix
but more that i have read countless books to in a silent way
and ‘what i say’ is just way too infectious to ignore.
move forward and never look back.
